Though all allergic reactions are not life threatening but need medical emergency when it happens. A child is prone to allergy when a child’s immune react to substance present in the environment known as allergens such as dust, pet animals, mold and shellfish.

Immunoglobulin E (IgE) are antibodies produced by the immune system. If you have an allergy, your immune system overreacts to an allergen by producing antibodies called Immunoglobulin E (IgE).

The most common signs when exposed to anaphylaxis are: Wheezing Abnormal pulse rate Tightness in breathing Abdominal pain Swelling, redness, itching Breathing problem There are different theories on why children and babies are prone to allergy easily but still the reason behind it is not clear why allergies have increased so much.

Some experts think that children immune systems are not developed completely to fight against allergens and as a result they overreact when they come in contact with such harmful substance.

Whereas a group of experts think that pollution is making allergies very common. Another theory states that it is because of lack of cleanliness or hygiene in homes which resulted to severe allergies in babies.

However your pediatrician may check your child over time to see if allergies are going away or getting worse. Medication may help in easing allergic reaction symptoms in babies and some allergies get off over the time.
